Slurry Seal Services
Slurry Seal is an asphalt slurry mixture of fine aggregate, emulsified asphalt, and water. This is carefully prepared to form a mortar-like compound. Slurry seal fills all voids, cracks, and eroded areas. Most importantly, it furnishes a consistent 3/16” wearing course over an asphalt surface. This heavy coat provides and extremely durable, non-skid surface. It has earned a reputation as a low-cost, high quality, long wearing application, but the Caltrans 37-3 specification is important. Some companies try to apply lower quality slurry seal by combing cheap sealcoats with sand and declaring that inferior product a ‘Slurry.’ – Don’t’ fall for it. Our Process
The area begins by thoroughly cleaning the surface using power sweepers or blowers to remove dirt, debris, and loose particles. Oil spots are removed by torching or scraping. If the asphalt has lot of cracks, we may recommend sealing them with a crack fill, to further protect your asphalt from water and sun.
Slurry Seal is applied by specialized trucks mounted with continuous mixing machines The trucks are large and not easily maneuvered sp private vehicles should be kept well clear of work site. Drying time for slurry seal is estimated for 3-6 hours or longer depending on whether conditions. People and vehicles need to stay off the material until the barricades have been removed.

To ensure optimal curing conditions, please make sure cars stay off the slurry seal until the barricades have been removed. This material is sticky and can be tracked into buildings; so please make sure everyone affected obeys all signs and traffic controls.
Slurry Seal has a reputation as a coarse aggregate sealer used mostly on main roadways. Because it is rougher and thicker than sealcoat, it tends to show more cosmetic imperfections such tire-tearing marks, scuffing, raveling of loose surface rock. The product is more vulnerable on very hot days while it is curing out. This is completely normal and will go away over time – usually within a few months or once the weather starts to cool down.
